Smokers frequently get offered lots of unsolicited advice on how to quit.

Wonderful book!
Did have a minor relapse today...had to have a smoke. Job interview tomorrow is killing me.

Got this sent by a friend last year by mail. Been on the board ever since and haven't had the stomach to even look at it. Getting easier these days.
Supposed to be over the hardest part of this. The first week. It does feels so anyway.

I'm colorblind. You're not always aware of it since you've never known anything else. You take it for granted.
Did get reminded of it when I saw "Invictus" this evening. At one point a song was played and it was about something being colorblind. But not this kind of colorblind. Colorblind in the sense of seing people beyond the color of their skin. -What an inspirational movie btw!
Made me think of that how we take so many things in life granted. Life itself for example. You're born as the purest of beings, still you grow up and start smoking. Before you know it you'd been a smoker for 10-11 years. That amounts to smoking your lungs non-stop for 251 days!! How's that for a thought?

Lastly I'd like to thank Nelson Mandela for being such an inspirational figure. Makes you feel lucky that you lived in the same time as he did.
All the best, Madiba.

Should be taking more walks now. At least it's warmer as every day goes by. Amazing that you get "away" from town by just walking 2 minutes from the city centre.
Believing in this non-smoking hype more and more. Convincing myself that I don't smoke gets easier.

Always loved a good cup of coffee along with a cigarette. Seemed almost inseparable for me. Creamy sweet Kenyan beans especially!
But now it already feels less and less as an option to lit a cigarette - and it's only the 4th. day.

They say that the 3rd day's the hardest. Was actually quite easier than the second day for me. Suspecting the nicotine gums to be decieving my senses - but at least I'm not smoking. Getting easier by the day.
I've always loved rainy days. And we happened to have some time on our hands.

Day 2 and I almost already lit a cigarette. Almost but I didn't. Had dropped Naja off at the church and on my way home all I thought of was to lit one as soon as I come home. Took one and headed to the balcony; would have stepped outside but for reminding myself of this diary. I began to think what a defeat it would be - even after only one day.
Todays photo is of my second most important aids in this, besides my camera. The Nicorette 2mg Freshmints!
